“As an athlete, life is constantly a balancing act, one thing that remains the same is the passion I have for the sport.”
From day one, Alysia Rissling has had what it takes to be an athlete. After playing basketball for the University of Alberta, she realized her true calling was to be an all Canadian bobsleigh athlete. The Canadian bobsleigh team allocated all remaining funds to the men’s team. Rissling had to raise C$100,000 in order to purchase a sled to compete in before her first world cup. In the end, she successfully raised the money through sponsorships and a waitressing job in a Calgary diner.
She also competed in the two-woman bobsleigh event for Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Rissling is a real powerhouse with a passion for the sport. She is also a true believer in nourishing our bodies with healthy plant-based foods.
