Dr. Greg Thompson is the Department Head of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery in the Horizon Health Network (NB) and an associate professor at Dalhousie University. He has extensive education, gaining his BSc (Honours) in Kinesiology, then his Ph.D. in Physiology & Biophysics focusing on neurocardiological and neurophysiological mechanisms in cardiovascular disease.
After completing his MD from Dalhousie, he pursued subspecialty surgical training in malignant and benign diseases of the head & neck. Aside from his clinical duties, he serves as a clinical lead for Choosing Wisely New Brunswick. He has received graduate and postgraduate research funding from the Medical Research Council of Canada, the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
