“I am just an average Canadian kid playing hockey.”
“Jumbo” Joe Thornton is a professional hockey player in the NHL and plays center for the San Jose Sharks. He is also an alternate captain. The team gave him the nickname ‘Jumbo’ because of his height and because of an elephant from his hometown. He has been playing for over 20 years and doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. As many of his fans know him for his work on the ice, he is also a fun-loving humorous athlete.
Joe is a gold medalist, playing in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. He has also won gold medals in the Canada Cup/World Cup in 2004 and again in 2016 in Toronto. He is impressive both on and off the ice. We are happy to have him as part of the TDF Sports team.
