Clean supplements are crucial for athletes in drug-tested sports. The University of Regina recognizes this problem and is taking action by partnering with TDF Sports Nutrition. The plant-based brand will provide students and staff of the university with NSF Certified for Sport products and exclusive discounts.
CEO and Co-founder of TDF Sports, Dr. Darren Burke discussed the importance of understanding the ingredients on clean-labelled supplements explaining, “Whether it’s intentional or not, few companies can ensure their products follow strict sports nutrition requirements at every step of the supply chain and manufacturing. This means pro-athletes and health-conscious enthusiasts are at risk. Some supplements contain hazardous, allergenic, or banned substances. These substances don’t make it to the label, so things can go unnoticed. At least, until the athlete takes a mandatory drug test.”
Lisa Robertson, the Director of Sport, Community Engagement & Athlete Development at the university said, “We are pleased to be partnering with TDF Sports. Our athletes will have access to safe, plant-based, NSF Certified for Sport products to use as part of their high-performance training.”
TDF Sports Products Give Athletes Peace Of Mind
Former NHL forward and current Co-founder and CMO of TDF Sports, TJ Galiardi understands the struggle of athletic performance and sports nutrition. “Staying on top of your game is a lot easier when you have complete confidence in the products you are taking. Our products are developed through sustainable nutrition technology that reduces waste, greenhouse gases, and water loss while creating high-value raw materials for use in our original formulations. At the end of the day, our products are created with the athlete in mind and we are very excited to work with young athletes and to have the opportunity to educate them at the beginning of their career.” Galiardi said from his Halifax office.
The NSF Certified for Sport logo is the mark athletes and coaches search for when they buy sports nutrition supplements. The National Science Foundation (NSF) is a top-authority for public health standards and TDF Sports is proud to produce products that meet this expectation while helping athletes improve performance.
“We are very excited to work with the University of Regina. This is just the beginning of our mission to provide innovative plant-based supplements for performance and health using a sustainable model,” Dr. Burke concluded.
